As we had promised, SnuggieHumor.com covered the Trolley Square Snuggie bar crawl in Wilmington, Delaware last night. The event's creator, David Hayes masterminded this event that helped raise money for the Red Cross Haiti Earthquake Relief Fund.
Although the tally on how much was raised has not yet been announced, by our account of the event, it was a huge success. We sent our crack staffer, Joey Zasa down to cover this Snuggie soiree and although he doesn't remember much, he was smart enough to bring a notebook, digital camera, camcorder, and more importantly, his beautiful wife. She was the one who was able to recall the nights events.
Joey stayed at the Sheraton in downtown Wilmington. While in the lobby, waiting for a cab (cabs in Wilmington are a story unto themselves), he was greeted by other guests who traveled down to participate in the event; an indication of how widespread the news of this event spread.
The night started at 1717 Delaware Avenue, a great little restaurant and bar that participated in Snuggie bar crawl. Joey, sporting his "Snugg Life" black Snuggie and his wife met with the restaurant's manager, Nicol DiMarzio, who welcomed them with a Pineapple infused Martini. According to reports, this tasty libation almost derailed our news coverage of the event; Mr. Zasa felt he should focus all of his attention on the delicious nature of this drink and wanted to interview the Pineapples for the remainder of the evening.
Luckily the brains of the operation convinced our staffer to move on. Heading down to the Del Rose Cafe. The Snuggies were a plenty, including an Irish flag Snuggie, Phillies Snuggie, and of course, the maroon, pick, blue, and green Snuggie blankets.
